REDWOOD CLASSIC COMPETITION
AUGUST 15-16, 1998
GENERAL RULES
- The Redwood Classic will be held at the Redwood Empire Ice Arena, 1667 West Steele Lane, Santa Rosa, CA on August 15 & 16, 1998. Sponsored by the Santa Rosa Figure Skating Club, and sanctioned by the USFSA.
- This competition will be conducted in accordance with the current USFSA Rulebook, except as herein specified.
- A skater�s eligibility to enter the competition is governed by the USFSA test structure, and CR 32.00. Tests passed as of the closing date of entries shall govern. Age as of the closing date of entries shall govern.
- All skaters must be an eligible member in good standing of the USFSA.
- All skaters will be judged and marked for all portions of all events.
- Each singles division will be divided by sex. Siblings will be separated whenever possible.
- Skating order will be determined by random draw. Events may be divided by the Competition Committee and/or the Chief Referee.
- Skaters may enter an event at only one level.
- The minimum number of entries to hold an event is two. Singles entries may be cancelled and entry fees returned. Single events may be allowed at the discretion of the committee. In that case entry fees will be kept. Events may be combined based on the number of entrants.
- Awards will be given to 1-4th place in each event.
- There will be on ice warm up per the current USFSA rulebook.
- Schedules: Please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope for a copy of the competition time schedule. Schedules will be sent to each participating club.
- Refund of Entry Fees: CR 33.05. Entry fees are refundable only if a skater withdraws prior to the closing date of July 15, 1998. Otherwise, refunds will be made only if the failure to participate is due to a medical condition certified by the treating physician.
- The Chief Referee�s interpretation of the rules and decisions on all questions not covered by these rules shall be final.
- All skaters 18 years of age and older must sign the Assumption of Risk Form. All skaters under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Assumption of Risk Form.
- Official Hotel: Days Inn, 175 Railroad, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Phone 707-573-9000. A block of rooms is being held until July 15, 1998, $79.00 per night.

Entry Forms
Entry forms are attached, and must be legibly filled out. Entry forms must be mailedwith the Entry Fees to the Registrar. It you have any questions, please contact us. All entries must be postmarked by July 15, 1998. Late entries may only be accepted at thediscretion of the competition committee. No entries will be accepted within 48 hours of the competition. No telephone entries will be accepted. Send all entries to:

ARENA AND ICE SURFACE
The Redwood Empire Ice Arena is 185 x 85 feet, with slightly rounded corners.
REGISTRATION
A registration desk will be located in the lobby of the ice arena. All competitors arerequired to register, turn in their music, and be ready to skate one hour before scheduled time of their event.
BULLETIN BOARD & NOTICES
An official bulletin board will be maintained. The most current tentative schedule and skating order will be posted. This schedule will supersede all other schedules. Notices on this board are to be considered sufficient notice to all persons. A tentative schedule with entries by event and group will be sent to all clubs.
MUSIC
All music must be a cassette tape. Tapes must be clearly marked with competitor�s name and event. Tapes must be cued and ready to play when turned in. It is a good idea to have a backup tape in your possession. Tapes must be picked up at the registration desk after the completion of each event.
AWARDS
Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Awards will be presented at the photographer�s stand as soon as possible following the posting of results.
