ATTENTION: COMPETITORS AND SKATING PROFESSIONALS
All dance competitors MUST BE at the Redwood Empire Ice Arena, to check in at the Registration Table and be ready to skate their event ONE HOUR before their scheduled event(s).
Dance Competitors are to frequently check The Official Bulletin Board (Located in the Lobby) for the most current schedule.
General Warm-Up Times are scheduled at the courtesy of the Santa Rosa Figure Skating Club and may be reduced or eliminated, if needed, at the discretion of the Chief Referee. Please be careful and watch out for other dancers as to avoid any potential collisions and/or accidents.
Music will be played in the Gereral Warm-Ups for Compulsory Dances only, if time permits!! There will be a 2.5 to a 3 minute Warm-Up with music for each Compulsory Dance Event Group, if time permits!
A majority of Compulsory Solo Dances will be danced in flights of two or more (not to exceed 4). Exceptions: Solo Viennese Waltz and Solo Kilian are to be skated individually. Compulsory Couple Dances will be danced in flights of two or more (not to exceed 4) for Couples Foxtrot, Couples Ten-Fox, Couples Cha-Cha. All other Couple Dance events are to be skated individually. Examples of Flights: 3 Entries (3), 4 Entries (2,2), 5 Entries (2,3), 6 Entries (3,3), and 7 Entries (2,2,3).
Two dance patterns for the Silver Samba and four dance patterns for the Killian, Rocker Foxtrot, Foxtrot and Pro/Am Fourteenstep (1 Lobe). All other Compulsory Dances will be 3 patterns.
The Judge's stand will be located on the east side (Theatre Seat Side) of the arena. All Compulsory Dances shall be started at the Coffee Shop end of the arena or the center of the arena depending on the start of the dance pattern. All starts shall commence toward the judges and referee and not more than seven steps by either partner or soloist. This also applies to all dancers in a flight for safety and judging reasons. The second couple or soloist in the flight shall start 3 measures (12 beats for Foxtrots/etc. and 18 beats for Waltzes) after the first couple or soloist BEGINS THE INTRODUCTORY STEPS. If there is a third couple or soloist in the flight, this couple or soloist shall start after the second couple or soloist accordingly.
Dancers shall enter and exit the ice from the gate in the north east corner of the arena near the rear dressing rooms. All dancers in an event shall be near this gate ready to take the ice when the dance event just before yours is in progress. On entering the competition ice, proceed directly to your start position. Please DO NOT circle the arena!!
Competition time restraints DOES NOT allow for a change of costumes between some dance events.
Dancers in the Couple Free Dance, PRO/AM Free Dance, Rhythm On Ice Dance Events, and Solo Free Dance Events MUST TURN IN their MUSIC upon registration!
