1997 COMPETITION

OKTOBERDANCEFEST SCHEDULE NOTES
(Subject to Change - Please see latest postings on SRFSC Bulletin Board at rinkside.)

* All dance competitors MUST BE at the Redwood Empire Ice Arena, 1667 West Steele Lane,Santa Rosa, California, 707/546-7147, to check in at the Registration Table and be ready to skate theirevent ONE HOUR before their scheduled event(s).

* Dance Competitors are to check the SRFSC rinkside bulletin board frequently for any changes.

* General Warm-Up Times are scheduled at the courtesy of the Santa Rosa Figure Skating Club. Please be careful and watch for other dancers to avoid any collisions and/or accidents.

* There will be a 2.5 to a 3 minute Warm-Up with music for each compulsory dance event group.

* Compulsory Solo Dances will be danced in flights of 2 and when the number of entries is odd, in flights of 3 maximum as shown on the schedule.

* Two dance patterns for Couples Fiesta Tango, Starlight Waltz, Argentine Tango, and PRO/AM Swing Dance. All other Compulsory Dances will be 3 patterns.

* Music will be played in the Gereral Warm-Ups for Compulsory Dances only!

* The Judge's stand will be located on the east side (Theater seat side) of the rink. All Compusory Dances shall be started at the Coffee Shop end of the rink or the center of the rink depending on the dance patterns. All starts shall commence toward the judges and not be more than seven steps by either partner or soloist. This also applies to all dancers in a flight for safety and judging reasons. The second dancer in a flight shall start 3 measures (12 beats for Foxtrot and 18 beats for Waltzes) after the first dancer begins the INTRODUCTORY steps. If there is a third dancer in the flight, this dancer shall start after the second dancer accordingly.

* Dancers shall enter and leave the ice from the gate in the north east corner of the rink near the rear dressing rooms. All dancers in an event shall be near this gate ready to take the ice when the event just before yours is in progress. On entering the ice, proceed directly to your start location. DO NOT circle the rink.

* Competition time restraints DO NOT allow for a change of costumes between dance events.

* Dancers in the Solo, Couple and PRO/AM Free Dance Events MUST TURN IN their music upon registration.
